Educator & Doctor of Physical Therapy
About Sam
I'm an educator and medical professional with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and more than ten years of experience supporting students across elementary and secondary educational settings. My background combines expertise in math, primary and secondary sciences, and medical sciences including kinesiology, anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation.
This has given me extensive experience working with diverse learners — including students with medical, behavioral, and developmental needs. I've developed individualized learning supports, adapted curriculum and assessments, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to help students achieve academic success.
"I believe every student can learn and succeed when instruction is tailored to their individual strengths, needs, and experiences."

What families & colleagues say
As an experienced teacher I recommend Samantha as an English, Math or Science tutor. She is hard working — earning a doctorate is an impressive achievement. She is intelligent, patient, and has a talent for explaining hard concepts in a simple way. Samantha is talented both with articulate writing and the sciences. Everyone I have recommended her to has had nothing but praise for her skills. She is dedicated, reliable, and has an excellent work ethic.
Sam provided exceptional academic support and curriculum modifications for my son for over five years, both one on one and in small groups. Her patience, consistency, and expertise in engaging students in their work made a real difference in his confidence and independence.
During her 4 year tenure with me, Ms. Peterson was an effective and clear communicator with multiple students and other staff members. She was responsible for analyzing performance data and alerting me as to necessary academic and behavioral progressions, interventions or materials needed to ensure student success. Ms. Peterson is experienced with online curriculums and has the ability to modify and create academic work tailored to her specific student to increase comprehension, focus, and quality of work. She is self-motivated, and can positively interact with a wide variety of ages, and students with varying degrees of academic ability.
